Sherdog.com is reporting that Jacob Volkmann is in negotiations to face Martin Kampmann at UFC 108:
Jacob Volkmann Rumored To Fight Martin Kampmann At UFC 108
Jacob Volkmann has agreed to meet Martin Kampmann in a welterweight bout at UFC 108 on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas, Sherdog.com has learned from a source with knowledge of the negotiations.
If signed, Volkmann will replace Rory Markham, who withdrew from the bout over the weekend after pulling his Achilles’ tendon in training.
Volkmann is coming off a loss in his UFC debut via a very close decision against Paulo Thiago. His wrestling and submission credentials are legit and it will be interesting to see if he can get Kampmann to the floor and what he can do if the fight goes there.
