Tiger Woods Connected To Doctor Who Is Being Investigated For PED Possession

This story is all over the place this morning, and we’d be remiss not to at least mention it, so here it is (because we all need another PED scandal in our lives, not to mention more Tiger Woods): A doctor who once treated Tiger Woods was arrested at the U.S.-Canada border for possessing human growth hormone and Actovegin (a PED created from calf’s blood). The doctor, Anthony Galea, is now being investigated by the FBI. Dr. Galea has also treated Olympic swimmer Dara Torres and several NFL players.

↵According to the story, Dr. Galea created a special type of perfectly legal blood therapy, which helps speed recovery after surgery. He visited Woods four times earlier this year in Florida to perform the therapy. That is the known extent of the connection between the two.

↵As for Torres, she says she met with Dr. Galea once to drain her knee.

↵Dr. Galea has denied any wrongdoing as well, insisting athletes don’t come to him for HGH because they can get that at their local gym, and says he has never mixed HGH or Actovegin into his blood therapy.

↵So there it is. Feel free to connect the dots and assume Tiger is some sort of ‘roider, if that makes you happy. But know that at this point there is no evidence whatsoever that he ever took PEDs. This would be like assuming I use cocaine because the pharmacist who sells me Aspirin is a crackhead.
