If an undefeated team loses on the NFL network, will anybody notice? That’s a question we first confronted on Thursday night, and tonight, the NFL is once again treating us to an awesome game that 75% of the country won’t get to watch from home.

Particularly considering the snow that’s forced the entire East Coast into hibernation—and away from sports bars that might show the game—this is pretty darn frustrating. For one, it’s obnoxious that the NFL puts games on Saturday night in the first place.
↵When they used to put games on Saturday afternoons—after college football had finished—it was like a cool bonus. But to broadcast games on Saturday night, suddenly, it’s a burden for true fans that also have social lives. Even for college football, it’s pretty lame.

But aside from the broader principles at work here… PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO WATCH THIS GAME. I’m lucky enough to have DirecTV, but most everyone I know is snowed in at home, channel surfing and wondering about the Saints game. That’s just stupid.
↵Look at the ads bordering this site. Pretty spiffy, no? Well with all the resources at the NFL’s disposal, you’d think they’d find a way to deal with this issue. Either work it out with the cable companies or simulcast big games like this one.
↵Somehow, this needs to change. Until then, you can take solace in these live look-ins from the game.
