Let’s review the Redskins Jim Zorn era. Zorn has been all but fired ever since the team lost in Week 6 to the woeful Kansas City Chiefs (the same team that just gave up 286 rushing yards to Jerome Harrison). Washington then brought in formerly retired offensive coordinator (and ex-bingo caller) Sherm Lewis to shore up the offensive play-calling. Remarkably, this has worked. Why? According to tight end Chris Cooley, Lewis allowed Jason Campbell to call plays off of wristbands, rather than memorizing them. Score, Common Sense: 1, Jim Zorn: 0.
Haynesworth Not Pleased With Skins’ Coaching
↵But on the scale of coaching blunders, last night’s debacle on MNF was a new low. Check out this masterpiece:
↵
↵The Skins successfully ran a similar play several weeks ago against the Broncos -- which means the opposition has it on tape, and has probably prepared for it. Also, it might be a good idea to keep maybe a few blockers in when your punter is passing. So it shouldn’t be much of a surprise when defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth had this to say about the team’s coaching:
↵↵I don’t think this team is that bad. Players ain’t that bad...I just think we’re all going in different directions and we need somebody to lead us in the right direction. You can take that however you want to.
↵↵We’ll take that to mean Jim Zorn should get canned. Agreed, Albert. Agreed.
