The Huffington Post has some competition on the horizon in the “sports coverage for people who don’t care about sports” department. The fine and frequently reprehensible folks at TMZ have registered TMZSports.com, and they’re not saying why but it’s not exactly tricky to connect the dots:

↵While TMZ PR declined to comment on “speculation,” a source close to TMZ tells Rafat that “Harvey has always viewed politics and sports as potential spinoffs, since both involve power, money and celebrity. One of his key lieutenants, Evan Rosenblum, is a big sports buff and may be involved.”↵Because if there’s one thing this country needs more of, it’s sports coverage that diverges more and more from actual coverage of actual sports. Fantastic.
