Hot And Cold Teams For Fantasy Championship Week

It’s time for your fantasy championship. It’s go time, baby! If you need to pick some guys off the waiver wire now you’re probably doomed already, but just for the heck of it here are some teams you should focus on.

NOW

Pittsburgh Steelers - Did you see that finish? Five hundred and three yards?! That’s how the Steelers break a five game losing streak, by unleashing the hounds! Mike Tomlin saw his job flash before his eyes on Sunday and if the Steelers are going to squeak into the playoffs, they’ll need to do it against the Ravens. Every Steeler should be a good start.

Jacksonville Jaguars - One of the teams trying to keep the Steelers out of the playoffs are the Jags, who have been doing just fine themselves lately. Overlooked QB David Garrard is on pace to finish with career highs in passing yards and passing TDs and just finished a 3 TD game against the Colts. Their next game against the Patriots (9th in pass defense) will be a tough one, but Jacksonville needs to win for a shot at the postseason.

NEVER

Denver Broncos - Reeling from a loss (at home!) to the hated Raiders, the dysfunctional Broncos now travel to a 4 pm game in Philadelphia. Oh yeah, that’ll go well. The Eagles are hitting on all cylinders having won five in a row, while the Broncos are second-guessing whether they’ll even hold on to a playoff spot. The Eagles have a shot at catching the Vikings for a bye week, so you know they’ll be motivated. Other than Brandon Marshall, I don’t have trust that any of the regular Broncos will perform well enough to be worth a start on your fantasy team.

Houston Texans - After squeaking out a miserable three point win against the Rams, this team is officially dead. Not out of the playoffs, but dead inside. Head coach Gary Kubiak is dead coach walking, the team knows it and they play like it. This week’s game against the Dolphins looks like another poor performance waiting to happen.
