Brady Quinn Goes On IR, Derek Anderson Will Start For Browns

The quarterback carousel continues in Cleveland. With just two games left in the season, the Browns have placed starter Brady Quinn on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, according to the team's official Twitter account. Former starter Derek Anderson will reportedly step back into the starting lineup this Sunday when Cleveland hosts Oakland.

Given the unexplained nature of Quinn’s injury, it wouldn’t be surprising if this is a move to simply give new team president Mike Holmgren a chance to evaluate Derek Anderson, as he assesses what the Browns want to do at quarterback this offseason.

Both Quinn and Anderson have struggled this season, posting passing numbers among the league worst. Still, the Browns were much more competitive over the last month and a half with Quinn under center, losing on the final play to the Lions, and knocking off both the Steelers and Chiefs.
