Over the past 24 or so hours, we’ve heard just about nothing about Urban Meyer aside from tributes and positive sentiment. On Sunday, though, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio posted this:
Mike Florio Plays Mental Health Expert For A Day, Psychoanalyzes Urban Meyer
↵↵Meanwhile, though we firmly believe that media types should keep matters of football and religion separate, we’ve gotten the impression that some media types regard the texting-while-praying maneuver as a badge of honor. It’s not. It’s the most dishonorable thing that a visitor to a house of worship can do, and it suggests to us that Meyer’s bigger health problems might arise not from any physical problems but from some type of mental or emotional defect.
↵↵Florio is one of the best in the business, but his moralizing makes me laugh out loud. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was hyperbolizing.
