Beating the Minnesota Vikings means the New Orleans Saints have now clinched the first seed in the NFC and assured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs as long as they’re still in it.
As someone who already has his tickets to the NFC Championship game, this is very good news. The Saints just need to uphold their end of the bargain.
The Saints close the season against the Panthers in a now-meaningless game. Meanwhile the Vikings host the fightless New York Giants and need a win in order to ensure they get a first-round bye. Otherwise the Eagles could steal it from them.
