No. 6 West Virginia 63, Marquette 62: Da’Sean Butler Saves The Day

December 29, 2009 - Morgantown, WV (Sports Network) - Da’Sean Butler’s turnaround jumper with 1.8 seconds remaining lifted the sixth-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers to a 63-62 win over the Marquette Golden Eagles in a Big East clash at WVU Coliseum.

Butler finished with 17 points while Devin Ebanks led the way with 19 points for the Mountaineers (11-0, 2-0 Big East), who remained one of only a handful of teams still undefeated in college basketball this season. Kevin Jones tallied 18 points in the win.

Lazar Hayward scored a game-high 24 points for the Golden Eagles (9-4, 0-1), who had their brief two-game win streak halted.
