Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - David Lee went 13-of-19 from the floor, finishing with game-highs of 30 points and 12 rebounds, as the Knicks sent the Pistons to their eighth straight loss, 104-87.

Wilson Chandler added 23 points and nine boards, while Danilo Gallinari logged 16 points for New York, which snapped a two-game skid. Al Harrington and Chris Duhon each scored 13 points, with the latter doling out seven assists.

Ben Gordon scored a team-high 17 points for Detroit, which at 11-20 is off to its worst start since the 1994-95 season. Richard Hamilton and Rodney Stuckey checked in with 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Detroit’s lone lead came on Stuckey’s jumper on the game’s opening possession.

The Knicks made a trio of three-pointers in the early stages, with Gallinari’s yielding a 15-5 lead midway through the first quarter.

New York held a 27-21 edge at the end of one and scored the first six points of the second frame, capped by Chandler’s alley-oop dunk. Detroit responded with a run of its own but found itself down 49-40 at halftime.

Lee netted the opening six points of the third quarter to make it a 15-point game, and the Knicks were up 79-66 going to the fourth.

The Pistons were within 96-85 following a pair of Stuckey buckets with four minutes to play, but the club missed its next six shots from the floor to fall short of challenging down the stretch.

New York was just 2-11 in its previous 13 trips to The Palace...The Knicks won the battle on the glass, 44-33, and shot 51.3 percent from the floor, compared the Detroit’s 41.8 percent effort.
