Between Vick, Goodell, Tony Dungy, the Atlanta fans defending Vick, the PETA protesters, the city of Philadelphia—it’s like everyone was included specifically to exaggerate some strange corner of the sports world.

↵And Vick’s much-hyped return to Atlanta today reads like a deleted scene from Baseketball. But just when you thought this story was pure cartoon, Vick went out and had a pretty decent game today, finally creating buzz on the field.

↵Now, perspectives on Michael Vick fall all across the spectrum. From eye-burning hatred to delusions that Philly would be headed for the Super Bowl if they’d just start number seven. But putting aside the crazies for a moment, it’s pretty nice to see someone that’s been through so much turmoil—most of it deserved—gain a measure of redemption for at least one game.
