Maybe it’s because every time you watch the Packers play you see him getting pummeled behind that sieve of an offensive line, or maybe it’s because his ostensible top wide receiver, Greg Jennings, has had a subpar year, but for whatever reason, Aaron Rodgers has flown under the radar despite being the top fantasy quarterback in the land.
How Is Aaron Rodgers The Top Fantasy QB?
↵ESPN’s Eric Karabell takes a closer look, and he finds that there is one quality that has separated Rodgers from the pack -- his legs:
↵↵How Rodgers differentiates himself from the other top quarterbacks -- specifically Manning, Brady and Brees -- is with his legs...Rodgers scored 21 fantasy points Monday, but it would have been only 18 points had Rodgers not scampered four times for 30 yards.
↵Rodgers has rushed for 277 yards and three touchdowns this season, a fact I doubt many owners are aware of. The touchdowns aren’t terribly unusual, as it’s the same number as Carson Palmer and Mark Sanchez, and one more touchdown than a bunch of others, including Brees and Ben Roethlisberger. But none of those guys have near that many yards.
↵↵To put it in perspective, those 27 points from rushing the ball are equivalent to the points from 675 passing yards. Sure, Rodgers is no Mike Vick, but it’s been enough to make him the top scorer in the game.
