Suns Disrespecting Amare’s 100% Charisma

↵We can sufficiently deduce that Amare Stoudemire won’t mind a trade, now that Phoenix management/ownership has cast its lost without Black Jesus. But Amare’s comments to the East Valley Tribune really serve to emphasize how backwards this all has been.↵↵⇥“I think it’s a low blow,” he said. “I’ve worked hard for the organization, I’ve been great in the community, I’ve done everything they’ve asked me to do. I’ve never gotten in trouble. You’ve never heard about any DUI’s or any trouble at all since I’ve been in the league. I’m 100 percent professional and charismatic, and made sure my character stood as such. To hear these trade rumors, that they want to trade me for pretty much nothing, I don’t get it.”↵↵To be sure, there are some real bad seeds in the NBA. We all know the list. But there’s a subset of what we can call “disappointments” that end up cast as bad seeds. Think about Pau Gasol last season. Widely considered one of the smartest and most personally accessible teammates, Gasol ended up in Memphis’ doghouse. No fire, no dedication or some such noise. A fire sale ensued, and the Lakers got something for (almost) nothing. And -- depending how the next week shakes out -- Phoenix is in the same situation: Amare has been a so-called disappointment, and someone will have acquired him for little.
