Proof that there are major things wrong with All-Star Weekend: Watch Devin Harris enthusiastically “set” the world record for baseline-to-baseline speed (there was no previous record). ↵
Perhaps the NBA Should Ask the Players for Their All-Star Weekend Input
↵
↵Now compare that to his two rounds in the Skills Challenge -- he doesn't look quite as listless as eventual winner Derrick Rose, but still, where does he look more energized and out to really prove something?↵

↵No, you didn't need me to tell you that the Playstation Skills Challenge means nothing to fans, even less to players. But shouldn't there be a way to amass corporate sponsorship while putting together an event that matters to players? That they can really get behind as a part of their weekend? For instance, I wasn't the biggest fan of LeBron's late game, clear-out jam Still, it was more impressive than anything in the Dunk Contest proper. Maybe, just maybe, the players are sending a message to the league. Or if they're not, the league might want to consult them like they were: What events would make them put on the best show? Trust the players to make something happen, rather than creating silly parameters in hopes that they work.↵

↵By the way, in a straight-up foot race, I'd pick Harris, narrowly, over Leandro Barbosa and Rajon Rondo. Tell me that wouldn't be must-see television, as simple as it is.↵
