Matt Kenseth Isn’t Just California Dreamin’
Can you believe it? Kenseth has 2 wins already this season and it is only two races old. He’s two-for-two.
Congratulaations to Kenseth and his team for pulling off this victory. I believe he won this race by getting off pit road ahead of Jeff Gordon.
Gordon tired to get back around Kenseth on the track but he tried too hard and used up his front right tire. Even though I not a fan of his it was nice to see Gordon contending for a win instead of being an also-ran.
Other points to note:
- Did anyone notice that Vickers finished 10th? He’s a sleeper this year, watch out for him.
- Other notiable top finishers were Kurt Busch 5th, Tony Stewart 8th, Montoya, Kahne, Stremme, Reutimann, and Waltrip (11th - 15th)
- Dale Jr and Mark Martin appeared to have similar engine failures - talk about digging yourself out of a hole, Jr is now 35th in points and if he has another couple of bad races he could be sitting outside the top 35 after the first 5 races. Ouch.
- The rain held off, you don’t know how mad I was when they went under the caution at the beginning of the race for rain let me tell you.
- 6:21 pm EST was the official start time around here. That is just too late as far as I’m concerned. That is still a start time of 3:21 pm on the west coast, why not start it at 1:00 pm Pacific time, which would be 4:00 pm EST and we get to watch the race with our kids and dtill have them in bed at a decent time, not to mention getting to bed ourselves at a decent time so we can get up and go to work in the morning - in this economy we don’t want to lose our jobs for poor production because we are tired.
- So what did you think of Jr’s interview with D.W.? If you missed it I’m sure it’ll be on youtube soon enough, in the meantime go here - it is about 4 min long. Let me know what you think, I’m interested.
- Finally, I found the race a little boring at times how about you?
