Time to Bring Back the NBA’s Mini-Fro

First, Iverson ditched the ‘rows. Then, Ben Wallace parted company with his trademark ‘fro. For those of us who figure hair is like the third or fourth most important thing in the league (after the ball, the basket, and the score), these times of great change are both exhilarating and terrifying. What is the new NBA hairstyle of choice? Will we see another one infiltrate pop culture like Iverson’s did? Who just plain looks the flyest?↵

↵Luckily, Patrick Hayes of the Flint Journal is on the case. Read the whole post, because it’s hilarious. Without giving away any of the winners and losers, here’s my favorite zinger:↵↵⇥Braids: Delonte West, Nene, Ronny Turiaf, Jermareo Davidson, Josh Powell, Udonis Haslem, Josh Boone, Melvin Ely, Chris Wilcox, Kyle Weaver, Thabo Sefalosha, Jared Dudley.

↵⇥We’ll give Delonte bonus points for the red hair and Nene credit for being the best player, but I think Udonis has had his the longest, so he wins this group.↵↵I personally would like to see the mini-fro come back. If it were a Nike product, it would’ve totally been retro-ed already by now, associated as it is with early Kobe, Iverson, and Arenas. I also need someone to come up with a name for whatever look unites Monta Ellis and Anthony Randolph.↵
