Presidents, They’re Just Like Us

↵
↵
↵As you have surely heard, President Barack Obama visited the Phone Booth in D.C. last night to watch his Chicago Bulls get destroyed by the second worst team in the league, the Washington Wizards. He celebrated with midgets, drank beer, and left early (with four minutes left) during a blow-out. Common American activity (except most of us don’t sit courtside, nor are we important enough in that the NBA will hold up a tip-off until we get to our seats).
↵
↵About those exceptions: I’m a little surprised he sat courtside. We all remember Bill Clinton attending the Final Four to watch the Razorbacks during his first term as president. But Obama (and a regular season Wizards game) don’t fit the same mold. I was surprised the NBA promoted Obama’s attendance ahead of time as much as it did, and shocked he didn’t watch from a box.
↵
↵But it went off without a hitch, capping off a great week for the Commander-in-Chief and a brilliant two weeks (by Washington standards) for the Wiz, who are 3-2 since the All-Star break and might be getting Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood back soon. This is change Antawn Jamison can believe in.↵
