Cardinals Becoming Unrecognizable

Arizona’s offensive coordinator Todd Haley bolted for the lush environs of Kansas City earlier this week. Reports have spread that Arizona’s defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast won’t be back either; it’s being called mutual, which means Pendergast has basically been fired.

↵No one expects Edgerrin James to return, and there’s the whole matter of Anquan Boldin, who has expressed his anger with the team since the third quarter of the NFC Championship Game.
↵
↵Boldin told the media this week that he doesn’t believe last summer’s contract dispute can be fixed, even if the Cardinals pay the man.↵↵⇥“I don’t think the relationship can be repaired with the organization,” Boldin told USA Today. “It takes more than, ‘Well, we did you wrong and we’ll pay you this.’ It’s not about the money. It was always about the principle. Guys being true to their word. I guess I was expected to uphold my end of the bargain, and it wasn’t reciprocated.”↵↵What’s worse is that Kurt Warner followed up by saying Boldin’s situation will weigh on his own decision whether to play in Arizona again or retire. Luckily though, Boldin’s intimation about principle over money is a lie (Drew Rosenhaus is his agent, for goodness sake), and no matter what happens with Anquan, a paycheck should keep Matt Leinart on the bench Warner in pads.↵
