‘Cats Owner Enjoys a Good Sean May Fat Joke

↵The ever struggling Bobcats held Ye Old Towne Hall with season ticket holders before Friday’s loss to the Hawks. Rufus on Fire took notes. As expected, an old man screamed about Adam Morrison and someone made a Sean May fat joke.↵↵⇥At the end of a comment about Sean May’s future value with the team, [GM Rod] Higgins said something to the effect of, “Lots of players don’t pan out in this league. You’ve just got to let them play. The proof is in the pudding.” To which someone in the front row remarked, “Be careful talking about pudding and Sean May,” causing [team owner] Bob Johnson to laugh aloud into his microphone.↵↵No matter who you are, jokes about Sean May and pudding are funny. I like to think May would have had the same reaction had he been in attendance.
↵
↵If I might add a note of seriousness, what’s happened to May is just sad. We all know how well he performed in Chapel Hill, but you forget that he actually produced at a nice clip when healthy during his second NBA season, about 12/7 in 23 minutes a game. That’s good for an undersized 22-year-old finding his way. But he had microfracture surgery a year and change ago, and has fallen into the Michael Sweetney/Jackie Butler Void. Luckily, said Void is filled with pudding. It all evens out in the end.↵
