The SEC Hates Your Bubble

↵Mississippi State whomped the LSU Tigers this afternoon, coming up with a 10-point victory. Jarvis Varnado came off like a psychopath on a trampoline, racking up seven blocks in 28 minutes. MSU will now play for the SEC’s automatic berth Sunday morning.
↵
↵Their opponent could be an added source of bubble-killing despair -- Auburn faces Tennessee shortly; if Auburn wins, the SEC finale will feature two teams who wouldn’t be in the Field of 65 without the automatic bid. That’s, of course, a spot that could go to one of those unsavory leeches who rely on the failure of others for the own success. (Bubble teams are gross and dirty, in a philosophical sense.)
↵
↵I don’t know how sadist individual members of the Selection Committee are, but I do know that humans hate added work. If Tennessee holds form and beats Auburn, Sunday’s championship game will hold the fate of the last bubble team at ransom until the final buzzer. But if Auburn wins, the committee can basically rule out said final bubble team (on this basis, pending the Pac 10 and Big 12 results). Or maybe the committee is secretly relying on a supercomputer and is just sitting around watching Sesame Street bloopers and drinking Diet Slice. What do I know?
↵
↵Elsewhere, Tyler Hansbrough is either the most fluid robot ever created, or the least convincing robot attempting to pass himself off for a human in history. My feeling on the matter changes on each possession.↵
