Cutler, Broncos Now Feuding in Person

↵Most of the time, so-called feuds between players and their teams tend to die off once the communication lines open up, especially if money isn’t the issue. In Denver, money isn’t the issue: Jay Cutler claims to be mad that the team tried to trade him for Matt Cassel, and the Broncos hold that Cutler requested a trade before any of that. The sides finally met Saturday, with Cutler visited new coach Josh McDaniels. You’d expect they would reconcile and get this thing going.

↵⇥With McDaniels holding his first team meeting at 8 a.m. Monday, Cutler not only had planned to attend but had agreed to a pre-emptive meeting with his new coach and general manager. Cutler apparently didn’t like what he heard and it is now doubtful he will attend the team meeting Monday, according to the source.↵↵It would appear we’re dealing with two guys who believe they have the power in this relationship. Someone’s got to eventually put on the skirt, though, lest Cutler actually find himself traded. With no apparent replacement available, it’s time for McDaniels to get a fitting room. Cutler has the upper hand.↵
