Yao’s Emerging as One-Liner King of the NBA

While I may not be in the most pro-Shaq mood today, I’ll always give O’Neal credit for his way with words. Even if his basso profundo mumble sometimes makes them hard to decipher. While Dwight Howard may have a sparkling personality and a decent sense of humor, his wit is no match for that of Yao Ming -- right down to the occasional difficulty one might have in understanding it.↵↵For instance, check out this gem, following a loss to the Jazz on Wednesday.
↵
↵From the Houston Chronicle:↵
↵↵⇥Until he switched his thoughts to the next game, Yao had plenty to say. It was not just about the call that sent him to the bench with six fouls in a four-point game.↵⇥
↵⇥
↵⇥“You know what, I had two offensive fouls tonight, three last night, two at the Minnesota game ... and you can go on,” Yao said. “Every time a defender player is on the ground, even if he just wants to sit down and have a rest, it’s my offensive foul. That’s unfair.↵↵Maybe that’s why Shaq’s suddenly turned so aggro, and taken to picking on Howard. He knows that, when it comes to one-liners, Yao’s the new champ in town.↵
