Quincy Carter Would Like That $5 Million

Quincy Carter, as you might remember, was part of a truly great period of time for the Dallas Cowboys. It was arguably the greatest three-way QB race, involving Carter, Vinny Testaverde and Drew Henson.↵↵Then he was released and the circumstances around that release were very vague. There was a lot of talk about a failed drug test and that he was dumped for non-football reasons. In an interview with WCNN in Atlanta, Carter -- who was arrested just a week ago on a probation violation -- tried to play the victim in his fight with the Cowboys. What does he want? $5 million he thinks he’s owed because of what essentially amounts to wrongful termination.↵

↵↵⇥But the 5 million that the Cowboys owe me, it’s not fair to say they don’t owe me that money when they broke the rules. That’s all I’m saying. But I’m the one who has gotten myself into trouble and I’ll just leave it at that.↵↵↵He also offered some interesting thoughts about his own personal struggles, where I’m relatively sure he somehow lumps together overeaters, racists and drug addicts:↵

↵↵⇥“I would say it’s a personal issue you have to work on every day. It’s almost like a bigger person not being able to put down a candy bar. It’s almost like a racist person not being able to say, “Oh I don’t like this group of people.” It’s something that you got to work on. I hate to use those two analogies but it’s something that I’m gonna have to continue to work on everyday.”↵↵↵Ah yes, all the colors in the rainbow there, my friends. If we’re lucky, they’ll give Quincy Carter some sort of reality show where he can give out even more of these life lessons. Oh, and good luck prying that $5 million from Jerry Jones. Seeing as how he couldn’t really stick in the NFL after that, he’s going to have a hard time proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that his skill was up to par and he was only cut for drug-related reasons.↵
