Driver Carl Edwards (right) and Bill Dawson of the Franklin Park Conservatory work to install community vegetable garden plots at the Robert F. Lederer Education Center in Marvin Gaye Park on Thursday. Local youth groups and residents were given tips to plant and care for the gardens as a unique way to get involved in the community. The gardens were made possible in part by The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company and the GroGood campaign, a nationwide program encouraging gardeners to grow extra produce and donate it to local food agencies.
