Deconstructing the Starbury Car Crash

The setup: Stephon Marbury is still livecasting, well, his life. Even as I write this post, there’s music playing with a black screen on his Justin.TV screen. Marbury has eaten Vaseline. Cried. And now, we’ve got our first on-air car accident at around the 1:40 mark below:â†µ

â†µLet’s go back and break this down:â†µâ†µ1:00 -- The philosopher Marbury reminds us it’s always a positive day when we wake up and that a lot of people don’t wake up. Fair point.â†µ

â†µâ†µ1:15 -- The natural transition into singing Happy Birthday, of course.â†µ

â†µâ†µ1:37 -- Why yes, Stephon, it would be nice if Mary J. Blige sang Happy Birthday to me.â†µ

â†µâ†µ1:46 -- [CRASH! Camera Tumbles.]â†µ

â†µâ†µ1:48 -- “Don’t worry about it. Ain’t nothin’ but the devil.” Yes, please repeat that verbatim when the insurance guy shows up. That should be sufficient evidence for your claim to be filed.â†µ

â†µâ†µI didn’t catch this live because I was out playing basketball, so maybe someone can fill me in if this was a one-car accident and his boy hit something like a light post or a big curb, but if that was an accident with another car shouldn’t he have, you know, stopped?â†µ

â†µâ†µI hope Starbury keeps going with this because it’s comforting to know I can turn that stream at any given time and see something new and ridiculous. â†µ
