
Offsides: Raiders QB Battle Runs Out of Gas

↵↵Much like Cash for Clunkers’ early finish, the predicted QB controversy between JaMarcus Russell and Jeff Garcia never materialized in Oakland and has ended two weeks earlier than expected. Raiders coach Tom Cable picked Russell for the starting job on Sunday. Garcia, a 39-year-old vet, missed the first half of training camp with a calf strain and has not given Russell, a third-year quarterback, much competition.↵
