Residents of Central Florida, brace yourselves. Lou Holtz might be your next congressman.↵The Orlando Sentintel reports Holtz is interested in challenging first-term Democrat Suzanne Kosmas (New Smyrna Beach). Allow me, if you will, to present the esteemed Mr. Holtz’s credentials by way of this video.↵

Lou Holtz Could Stop Doing Magic Tricks and Make a Congressional Run
↵
↵As an amateur political expert, it’s clear to me that he’s ready -- magic tricks! -- but what did the Sentintel find about his chances?↵↵⇥“You put him in the ring and it’s all but over,” said John Dowless, an Orlando-based Republican consultant. “He’s on TV, he’s likable, the name ID is huge and people respect him enormously.”↵↵↵I think it’s fair to say that while Sarah Palin might not prove to be the next rock star for the Republican party, Holtz is more than willing to step into that role.↵
↵↵(This, of course, would overlook the facts laid out by the Sentinel that the GOP race is crowded. Also, another political expert feared that Holtz’s history of verbal mishaps would only lead his competition to scour the archives for other instances when the former Notre Dame coach had a slip of the tongue.)↵
