Offsides: Knee-Jerk Reaction about Bush

↵↵In a new recurring series called Offsides, which will run↵Monday-Thursday with the occasional Friday, LSUFreek plays the role of↵TSB editorial cartoonist.↵
↵↵By the end of the first Saints practice Wednesday morning, news spread that Reggie Bush left the field to place ice on his surgically repaired left knee. Some Bush fans made the leap that his knee had been re-injured, or worse, that it was a season-ending injury. They held their collective breath until Bush revealed to the media later in the evening that the knee was iced merely as a precautionary step of post-surgical maintenance. Saints head coach Sean Payton also confirmed that Bush “is doing fine.” ↵
↵↵So, now we can let the regularly scheduled Reggie Roasts resume as to whether he is an NFL bust and/or not worth the money, or whether he had an agent during his college days at USC, or whether he is too brittle to ever be “The Back.” But, whatever a Bush discussion entails, we shouldn’t jump to conclusions. We wouldn’t want to add insult to “injury.”↵
