Offsides: NFL Food for Thought

↵↵In a new recurring series called Offsides, which will run↵Monday-Thursday with the occasional Friday, LSUFreek plays the role of↵TSB editorial cartoonist.↵
↵↵Clean your plates. Football is back this weekend. ↵
↵↵On Saturday, the celebration begins when Bruce Smith, Rod Woodson, Derrick Thomas, Randall McDaniel, Bob Hayes, and current Bills owner Ralph Wilson Jr. enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Oh, and then there is this matter of the Buffalo Bills actually playing the Tennessee Titans on a football field in an actual stadium, and not on a video game system. Helmets. Cleats. Running. Blocking. Passing. Tackling. Scoring. How sweet it is! ↵
↵↵However, it’s a preseason game. The kind of game complete with rusty veterans, unripe rookies, and groan-worthy turnovers. We will probably see more of Bruce Smith than we will of the Titans electric running back Chris Johnson. We should also expect to learn more about the Bills’ prospects this season from Ralph Wilson than we will from T.O.‘s tweets. But football season is here to stay. And as hungry as football fans are for some football, like any devoured delectable meal, we should all be asleep just after the first quarter.↵
↵↵Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?↵
