Armanti Edwards: Too Quick for ‘07 Wolverines; Not Quick Enough for Lawn Mower

This time two years ago, I had no idea who Armanti Edwards was -- and neither did a whole bunch of people. That was until Edwards went off on Michigan’s defense in The Big House. The Appalachian State quarterback isn’t quite a household name, but he’s at least a guy just about every college football fan remembers.↵↵Let’s add to his lore with this story, shall we? Edwards will miss 2-4 weeks of practice after his right foot got caught in a lawn mower. Now, the exact severity of the injury isn’t available, so I don’t know if he went all Fargo on his own foot, or he just clipped a toe, but let’s think about this for a minute.↵

↵↵Edwards got his foot caught in a lawn mower. I tend to go down in a heap Peter Griffin-style if I hit my funny bone or bang my shin. Edwards, on the other hand, is ready to shake off the fact that a lawn mower rolled back down a hill onto his foot.↵

↵↵So how does this add to the lore of Edwards? Get this: App State coach Jerry Moore expects Edwards to be ready to start the Sept. 5 season-opening game against East Carolina. So yeah, next time you bump knees playing basketball, walk it off, tough guy.↵
