With the Broncos Brandon Marshall now officially moved to the reserve/suspended list his status for week one is in severe jeopardy. How will this impact his overall numbers? And more importantly, where should you look to draft him? Last season, Marshall was suspended for the first game and still managed to be the 12th-best fantasy receiver with 104 receptions, 1,264 yards and six touchdowns.
Brandon Marshall: A Fantasy Dilemma
Can you expect those same numbers this year? No.
The emergence of Eddie Royal and the departure of Jay Cutler means the Broncos offense won’t be the same. Kyle Orton already has an “open dislocation” on his finger and Jabar Gaffney is out for an unknown amount of time with a fractured wrist. But the good news is - wait for it - the first week or two do not make or break your fantasy season!
Brandon Marshall is too talented to let go by on draft day. But when is too early? In average draft position he is currently going behind players like Ochocinco and Roy Williams in the late 4th, early 5th rounds. If he drops to you there he is a steal. Even earlier than that he will be worth it in the long run.
Take a chance on Marshall, just don’t expect him to be happy about it.
