Matsuzaka Looks Great Against a Bunch of Single-A Ballers

This is pretty much exactly how a team wants a rehab start to go: 6 2/3, one run, one walk, seven K’s. Sure, it was against a bunch of Single-A kids just happy to be there, but it’s still an encouraging performance for Matsuzaka, who struggled mightily in the majors this season before landing on the 60-day D.L. in June.

With Tim Wakefield ailing, Dice-K could be available to make his first start since June 19th early next week against the Angels.
