(Injured) Arms Race: Royals, White Sox Face Problems with Starters

While the book hasn’t been completely closed on Brian Bannister yet, Royals Review says Kansas City might as well shut him down anyway:

The Royals will try to make due with pitchers like Bruce Chen and Lenny DiNardo in their rotation in the meantime. Not exactly a rotation to set the world on fire, but the Royals didn’t necessarily have that to begin with either.

Peavy might be healthy, but White Sox fans certainly aren’t jumping for joy at this point in the season. Maybe the A.L. Central would look a little different if Peavy’s debut was early-August instead of mid-September.

According to the Chicago Tribune, White Sox fans might see their new ace as soon as this weekend after his bullpen session on Wednesday:

One thing is for certain: nothing is certain when it comes to Peavy and when he’ll debut for the White Sox.
