61-Year-Old Man is Working as a U.S. Open Ballboy

Hello, reader. Right off the bat, I’m positive that we have one thing in common: we’re both sitting in front of our computers. Perhaps you’re looking for U.S. Open coverage, or perhaps you’re disappointed over the lack of recent Dallas Cowboys Jumbotron news. Meanwhile, 61-year-old Jerry Loughran is presumably waiting for rain to stop at the Open so he can get back out and perform his duties as a ballboy. And it’s required no small amount of sacrifice on his part.

↵↵It looks as if a plum exploded on his upper left thigh, a purple bruise from an as-yet-undiagnosed muscle tear. His mysteriously swollen right knee is hidden under a brace. His left calf is wrapped in a bandage. It hurts the most.

↵↵I can relate. The chair I’m sitting in right now is kind of uncomfortable.
