Brian Urlacher will miss the rest of the season after suffering a dislocated wrist in Sunday night’s loss to Green Bay. Suddenly, the Bears have bigger problems than Jay Cutler’s poor performance.
Bears Sign a Replacement LB: Tim Shaw
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bears have added third-year LB Tim Shaw. He was a fifth-round pick in ‘07 by the Panthers out of Penn State. He spent the preseason with the Jaguars before being cut earlier this month.
The article also says the Bears might not be done scooping up linebackers, so we shall keep you updated if they make more moves.

As mentioned in our last update, starting LB Pisa Tinoisamoa was also injured last night. Good news on that front, however, from the Chicago Tribune:
[T]here is a chance another starting linebacker could play against the Steelers on Sunday. Pisa Tinoisamoa is day to day after spraining his right knee in the first quarter of Sunday’s 21-15 loss to the Packers, according to an NFL source.I’m not an expert, but it’s my understanding that losing two starting LBs would be worse than losing one. So, glass half-full, Chicago: You still have Pisa.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Bears, now with a sizable hole in their linebacking corps, are talking to ex-Buccaneer LB Derrick Brooks, who had a lot of successful years playing in Lovie Smith’s defense when the Bears head coach was an assistant in Tampa.
The Bears have Hunter Hillenmeyer to take Urlacher’s spot at middle linebacker, but having Brooks around for depth might make sense, especially given that outside LB Pisa Tinoisamoa was also injured last night. He suffered a sprained posterior cruciate ligament.
