ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Bears, now with a sizable hole in their linebacking corps, are talking to ex-Buccaneer LB Derrick Brooks, who had a lot of successful years playing in Lovie Smith’s defense when the Bears head coach was an assistant in Tampa.

The Bears have Hunter Hillenmeyer to take Urlacher’s spot at middle linebacker, but having Brooks around for depth might make sense, especially given that outside LB Pisa Tinoisamoa was also injured last night. He suffered a sprained posterior cruciate ligament.
