Turns out Shawn Andrews has his own YouTube channel. And as SB Nation blog, Bleeding Green Nation points out, Andrews has been taking to the site in the last few hours to take on some of his critics in the comment sections:
Andrews Responds to YouTube Commenters; Says Back Still Ailing Him
Lol.. You guys are harsh. I won’t let what you guys say offend/control me.. I hope you guys never experience what I have. It’s not my fault my back is jacked right now. It’s fine that you guys don’t care about my health tha is fine. I hustle for my family man. I appreciate your concerted efforts to berate me, but @ the end of the day we are all human. GOD Bless each of you guys, and may he remove all the negative energy from you guys..;)
And:
Please don’t feel sorry for me. That is not what I’m he’re for. What hurts the most other than my back right now is the fact that I can’t bend over, and pick up my 32lb. son, and most of the people taking time, and energy to express their hate for me. SO WHAT…I’m human.. I can, and NEVER will put a pricetag on my health..I see from many of the posts it’s about the money. I so far have beat the avg. span of an OL in the NFL.. I will continue to pray for the hatefuls. To the true fans that feel slighted. I would never do that to you guys. GO Eagles
Andrews’ comments only add to the confusion surrounding why he was placed on IR. While the Eagles had insinuated Andrews’ issues were not physical, he – perhaps unsurprisingly – insists his injured back is still limiting him.
A final note: it’s probably not a good idea to berate someone with a history of depression, Eagles fans. Yes, losing a Pro Bowl lineman for murky reasons is frustrating, but try to realize there are bigger issues at play here (and now I’m taking off my Jay Mariotti hat).
