Bob Brookover of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports:
Eagles Won’t Bring Back RT John Runyan
The Eagles were so impressed with [Winston] Justice’s performance in the season opener at Charlotte that a team source said they did not feel the need to re-sign free agent Jon Runyan, who was at the NovaCare Complex last week for a workout in front of Reid, general manager Tom Heckert and offensive-line coach Juan Castillo.
The folks over at SB Nation blog Bleeding Green Nation react to this latest news. From Bleeding Green Nation:
While Winston Justice seems to be firmly entrenched as a starter, there is still a need for a quality backup. On the official depth chart, there is currently no one listed behind Justice. Second year man King Dunlap is currently the only backup tackle, and is listed behind Jason Peters on the left side. With Todd Herremans, Nick Cole, and Max Jean-Gilles all battling injuries, it is clear that the Eagles need help with their offensive reserves, and quickly.
Now that Mr. Kendra Wilkinson (aka Hank Baskett) is gone, the Eagles are down to six wide receivers on the roster. If they need another offensive linesman, cutting one more wideout to make room on the roster might make the most sense.
