Jim Tressel Feels (And Looks Down On) Your Pain, Ohio State Fans

Jim Tressel realizes his team’s loss to USC in Columbus Saturday night has caused Ohio State fans a great deal of existential angst. if only Jim Tressel was susceptible to human failings like “emotion”:

↵↵“Honestly, the thing when I read some of them is I feel terrible for them because there’s no way they’re happy,” Tressel said at his weekly media luncheon today. “They’ve got to be some of the most unhappy people in the world, and I feel bad because we just made them less happy.

↵“And I hate to be a part of making someone less happy. I mean, they’re already miserable and to make them less happy, I feel bad.”

↵↵That’s about as backhanded a thing as Tressel could have said there, but in his defense, just imagine the emails he gets on a weekly basis. I would boil right over my scarlet sweater vest, too.
