Michael Young is back!
Young Makes Just One At-Bat Before Coming Out of Game
But not for long.
Young, who started the game in the two-hole as the designated hitter for the Rangers tonight, flew out to center field in the first inning and then pulled himself from the game:
The preliminary report from the Rangers is that Young did not suffer a physical setback. Instead, Young felt it would be better to wait a day or two to return to the lineup.
The Rangers have a day off on Thursday. Young could sit out Wednesday’s game against the Athletics, take Thursday off and then return to the lineup on Friday when the Rangers open a three-game series against the Angels.
The Rangers are currently losing to the Athletics, 6-1, in the 8th inning. With the Red Sox earning a victory tonight, the Rangers sit 5.0 games back from Boston in the American League Wild Card race.
