Get Your Popcorn, Er, Crispy Green Bean Fries Ready!

↵
↵The low-hanging video screen will likely forever be a punch line associated with the new Cowboys Stadium. And while there’s a chance it could result in do-overs, which bring shame to the game and frustration to fans, it’s a least a distinguishing feature in an era where you can’t much tell stadiums apart save for the color of their seats. And that’s good. We all need something to bag on. Otherwise it’s the usual about how annoying Cowboys fans are.↵↵Even though several preseason games and a NCAA regular season game have been held in its confines, this Sunday night marks the first regular season Cowboys game to be played there (the place’s raison d’etre), making this the de facto christening of Jerry Jones’ billion-plus dollar behemoth. There will be fanfare, hoopla, perhaps a dash of ballyhoo. And promotions galore. Thankfully, those include promotions about balls hitting the giant low-hanging video screen.↵

↵↵Yes, T.G.I. Friday’s, lovers of flair that they are, will give out a free order of Crispy Green Bean Fries to all customers if a punter hits the screen during the game. So other than being treated to general hilarity, viewers will get a free side order from a chain restaurant should Jerry Jones get embarrassed on national television. Jeff Feagles and Mat McBriar are punting for all of us now. Aim high, boys.↵

↵↵Canny promotion. Your move, Ruby Tuesday.↵
