The SEC: Where Coaches Faces Decorate Urinals

Sometimes I’m not sure whether Lane Kiffin really understands what he is already in the middle of as an SEC coach. He did say this earlier this week:

↵↵“It blows me away sometimes how much hatred there is towards him, you know, when you do your radio show and people call in and you hear comments,” Kiffin said. “I’m not going to pull a Mike Gundy, but I mean the kid is in college. He’s a college kid. He’s going to school. He’s a great student. And I feel bad for him. …

↵↵

You’re surprised? In a conference where, just two years earlier, Tim Tebow had to get a new cellphone number in order to avoid the death threats LSU fans made personally to the UF QB when Tiger fans got a hold of his personal number? Nothing is beyond the pale in the SEC, and that includes everything from criticizing 20 year olds for their poor football decisions to, oh, I don’t know…something like putting a coach’s face in a urinal?

↵Yet another friendly reminder you are not in the Pac-10 anymore, Coach Kiffin. You can’t really make it any clearer than that.
