Summer high school football practices — which usually begin the first week of August, a hellish week no matter where you are in the country — inevitably lead to cases like Max Gilpin’s. Gilpin was a sophomore at a Louisville high school when he passed out at a practice last summer. Today a jury acquitted his coach, Jason Stinson, on charges of reckless homicide and wanton endangerment.
