Ricky Byers is a winner. He's won races in all types of racing and he's beat cancer. Twice.

And now in his quest to race for a cure you’ll be able to follow Ricky through NASCAR Ranting and Raving as he posts about everything from finding sponsors to racing and everything inbetween - including fighting cancer.

Racing for over twenty years, Ricky Byers has had track championships at Talladega Short Track, Wilsonville, Green Valley, and Phoenix City, Alabama. And he ran over five years with no less than a fifth place finish.

Ricky’s racing experience includes high speed go-kart racing, Pony Class, Super Pony Class, Dwarf Cars, and late model racing on dirt tracks. He has driven Sprint Cup cars at Talladega Superspeedway and at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

But Ricky has won even more. He beat squamous cell carcinoma—twice. He was part of the Lance Armstrong Foundation Tour of Hope. To help others diagnosed with cancer, Ricky has been part of locating treatment and financial support. Beating the odds and winning races. Thats why Ricky plans to be the only cancer survivor racing in the ARCA Series next year with maybe the odd race in either the NASCAR Nationwide Series or NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The Ricky Byers Motorsports Racing for Research Program is designed to leverage the excitement generated by the ARCA Series to raise funds for the ongoing Cancer Research effort. With the support of the ARCA Series, major corporations, celebrities, and professional athletes, Ricky and his team intends to raise a significant cash donation that will be distributed to Cancer Research Agencies. All funds above the operational expenses necessary to compete in the ARCA Series will go directly to the Cancer Research agencies.

Ricky is single and lives in Leeds, Alabama.
