Not too long ago Coach Tomlin said that Willie Parker was his guy. It didn’t take long for him to change his mind. After a lackluster showing by Parker in week one it looks like the Steelers will start rotating their backs. Fast Willie was going up against a tough Tennessee defense, but showed no burst. Not that Mendenhall showed much more, but it looks like they’ll spread out the carries until someone steps forward. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette writes:
Steelers to Rotate Running Backs
Willie Parker will start and play two series, Rashard Mendenhall will play the third series, and they will rotate that way. Mewelde Moore will continue to play in passing downs.
This is not good news for Parker owners, but I still don't think it boosts Mendenhall up either. Until someone shows that they can pick up yardage the best fantasy producers in Pittsburgh will be Big Ben and his receivers.
