Week 2 Injury Report (Part 2)

New England @ NY Jets – Sunday 1 pm

NE – LB Jerod Mayo (knee) OUT, WR Wes Welker (knee) is questionable. If Welker can’t go, look to Randy Moss to have another strong week. The loss of Mayo might open lanes for NYJ RB Thomas Jones and improve his fantasy value this week.

NYJ – DT Kris Jenkins (back) is questionable. This could help the Patriots establish the run with Fred Taylor as much as they want to… but Randy Moss is the best non-Brady play in this game.

Arizona @ Jacksonville – Sunday 1 pm

ARI – WRs Steve Breaston, Anquan Boldin and Early Doucet are all questionable this week. That means Larry Fitzgerald will be the central focus of the Jacksonville defense, but also Kurt Warner’s only big play option. Watch for one or two of these guys to contribute, and consider RB Tim Hightower, who had a nice receiving day out of the backfield in Week One.

JAX – Nothing

Houston @ Tennessee – Sunday 1 pm

HOU –WR Andre Davis (concussion) OUT, WR Kevin Walter (hamstring) and DL Shaun Cody (knee) are both questionable, S Eugene Wilson will be a game-time decision (knee). Given Tennessee allowed over 300 yards to Pittsburgh in Week One, no Davis and a questionable Walter mean Andre Johnson could be a solid play. Tennessee does, however, have two all-pro corners.

TEN – TE Bo Scaife (knee) is questionable. The fact that WR Nate Washington’s legs appear to be healthy, and with Scaife being questionable, should improve Washington’s stock this week.

Oakland @ Kansas City – Sunday 1 pm

KC – QB Matt Cassell (knee) is listed as questionable. Brodie Croyle would start if Cassell can’t go, which could hurt the individual value of all Chiefs skill players.

OAK – WR Chaz Schilens (foot) is OUT. Not a big fantasy impact, unless you’re in a 20-team league that plays our WRs a week.

Tampa Bay @ Buffalo – Sunday 4:05 pm

BUF – CBs Terrence McGee (back) is questionable and Drayton Florence is banged up but listed as probable. Thankfully for Buffalo, they have Tampa coming into town, so having issues in their secondary could be a limited factor.

TAM – WR Antonio Bryant (knee) is questionable, but should be good to go on Sunday afternoon for this late start in New York Antonio Bryant didn’t travel to Buffalo, he’s out for the game.

Baltimore @ San Diego – Sunday 4:15 pm

BAL – S Ed Reed (concussion) is probable, while LB Terrell Suggs (concussion), S Tom Zbikowski (concussion) and TE LJ Smith (hamstring) are all questionable. Maybe they shouldn’t hit so hard? This could be another physical affair in southern California.

SD – RB LaDanian Tomlinson (ankle) is doubtful. To think that Darren Sproles will get a chance against Baltimore as an every-down back is scary, and should improve the values of QB Philip Rivers, WR Vincent Jackson and TE Antonio Gates. Look for San Diego to pass a lot on Sunday.

Cleveland @ Denver – 4:15 pm

CLE – LB Jerome Harrison (knee) and RB Jamal Lewis (neck) are both probable. Given Denver’s defensive woes last year, Lewis could be a strong play on Sunday.

DEN – CB Champ Bailey, S Brian Dawkins and QB Kyle Orton are all probable.

Indianapolis @ Miami – MONDAY 8:30 pm

IND – WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee) is OUT. The Colts signed WR Hank Baskett this week, but the real fantasy impact of this injury is the increased expectations for WR Reggie Wayne. Play Wayne and QB Peyton Manning this week.

MIA – No significant injuries.
