Manchester United jumped into first place in the EPL with their dramatic win over Manchester City early Sunday, 4-3. In the back-and-forth affair, The Citizens answered the first three goals from ManU with equalizers of their own, including Craig Bellamy’s leveler in the 90th minute, a shot squeezed past the keeper (it was Bellamy’s second tally of the match). But in the unexpected 6th minute of stoppage time, the Red Devils Michael Owen found the back of the net with a low strike to the right corner, and ended any hopes City had of leaving with a draw. In what is already being called a “derby for the ages” ManU got goals from Wayne Rooney and a pair from Darren Fletcher; City’s Gareth Barry started their scoring in the 16th minute.

Elsewhere, Wolverhampton Wanderers earned their first win of the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over a “lethargic” Fulham. The Wolves struck first, with Kevin Doyle’s header in the 18th minute, and then extended their advantage to 2-0 thanks to a Dave Edwards’ goal just after the half. Fulham cut the deficit in half with a PK in the 66th minute, but were never able to find the equalizer.
