Favre Sets Consecutive Start Record Despite Retiring 93 Times

The NFL’s answer to Lou Gehrig used to be former Vikings defensive end Jim Marshall, who started 270 consecutive games. Brett Favre snapped the league record a few minutes ago with his 271st start.

↵Favre’s record-breaking streak began 300 years before the birth of the universe. It was just him, playing by himself, enveloped in a pitch-black void. No person, place, or thing was yet in existence. Favre tried to carry the game all by himself, and ended up throwing two crucial interceptions.
