Redskins fans boo’ed early and often during their team’s home opener yesterday. Sure, the Skins managed to not lose to the Rams, but their offense was inept in the redzone. Unable to score a touchdown, despite being in position to do so five times, the fans continued to voice their displeasure even as the Skins were in victory formation.
Redskins Third-String LB Robert Henson Goes Off on Fans
↵LB Robert Henson was quite upset about all of this, which is odd because the fans were clearly boo’ing the players who were actually on the field. Here’s a snippet of his Twitter rant, which went on for hours after the game:
↵↵All you fake half hearted Skins fan can .. I won’t go there but I dislike you very strongly, don’t come to Fed Ex to boo dim wits!! […] The question is who are you to say you know what’s best for the team and you work 9 to 5 at Mcdonalds.
↵↵To which outspoked former-Redskin Brian Mitchell had this to say:
↵↵“Who the hell is Robert Henson? First of all, I’ll talk for the fans. Get on the field, Robert Henson. Make a play and make sure someone know who the hell you are. You can write on Twitter about me, but you know what, these fans pay your salary. They can boo you if they want to boo you. […] So c’mon, give me a break. He is picking a battle he shouldn’t pick.
↵If you’re not playing, if you’re not performing, you can’t take a shot at anybody. Ok? So Robert Henson, shut up. Don’t say anything else on Twitter.”
